Breakfast, the Most Important Meal of the Day

Spread the love

Almost everyone agrees that breakfast is the most important meal of the
day.  It helps you prepare for your long
day, and gets your body’s metabolism off to a good start.  Whether you like the traditional bacon and
eggs or go for a donut instead, there are countless breakfast options for
hungry early morning diners.

The old fashioned diner can still be found all across the United States,
serving up eggs and toast and other traditional breakfast favorites.  Then you have your restaurant chains that are
famous for their breakfast foods.  Waffle
House is a popular chain in the South and parts of the Mid-Western United
States.  Waffle House Restaurants work on
the diner theme, with comfortable restaurant booth furniture and countertop
stool seating, and a classic menu that includes eggs, bacon, sausage and hash
browns—and of course the famous waffles, which you can have served with many
different toppings.

Another famous breakfast food chain restaurant is IHOP, and their
specialty is pancakes.  These barely
scratch the surface when it comes to breakfast restaurants in just the United
States alone.

Greasy Spoon
Diners have a certain image in the popular imagination.  Open all hours of the day and night, serving
breakfast foods, sandwiches, burgers and such.
Maybe even a slice of pie on display.
These types of restaurant have their place in Americana, and are still
popular today.  Restaurant chains like
Waffle House model themselves off of these diners.

Throughout parts of the United States, you will find restaurants that
offer classic breakfasts in a diner or short-order type of environment. Many
are open only from the early hours of the morning until about midafternoon, and
some, like Waffle House, are open at all hours of the day and night and never
close.  Therein lies their advantage to
the breakfast crowd, they are open when we are waking up, and therefore we can
go and have a quick breakfast without having the hassle of making it ourselves
and then having to clean up.

The classic American breakfast, bacon or sausage, eggs, toast, grits or
hash browns, pancakes or waffles, can be time consuming to make at home, and
can leave a big mess to clean up.  This
is not exactly an easy option when you have to go to work or have weekend plans
that don’t involve being in the kitchen all day cooking and cleaning.  So why not go to a diner and have a ham and
cheese omelet with some pancakes, and then go about your day?

Breakfast Food
No time to sit down and have a big breakfast?  In the modern world, time is of the essence,
and in short supply.  Therefore we do not
always have the luxury of being able to sit back and enjoy a good hearty
breakfast.  However, the fast food
industry has come to our rescue.
Everyone from McDonald’s and Burger King to Taco Bell have begun
offering breakfast choices.  Whether you
want an Egg McMuffin or a breakfast taco, there are plenty of fast choices
available to you.  So no matter what, if
you have time for a big breakfast, or can only opt for a drive thru, there is a
breakfast choice out there.  So don’t
skip it.  It is, after all, the most
important meal of the day.
